The Great Australian Air Rally - 2009
The Great Australian Air Rally (known as the GAAR) is now in its ninth year. It began as an air race but the creators of the event, an Australian virtual airline, Blue Grass Airlines, decided to change the event to a rally so as to encourage more participants, but still keep it fairly competitive. Previous events have taken us all around Australia, including Tasmania and Papua New Guinea as well as Sydney, Adelaide and the Tropical north including Cairns and Coofs Harbour . This year's event is a 19-sector tour of Western Australia, starting in Darwin and moving steadily south, visiting some intersting airfields in island places and various mining sites along the way. The Aircraft I used for this year's Rally was the Douglas DC3 Dakota (Army version) from MAAM SIM. The scenery is from the current Vista Australis (VOZ) Team package version 1.8.
